WHAT IS SUMMER OF SERVICE?
The initiative for Greenville Oaks this summer is Summer of Service. As Christians, we are called to serve others so that others may see God. Therefore, we are encouraging you to find ways to serve others this summer. Many opportunities will be available to engage in service projects for all ages and skill levels. In addition, we encourage you to pay attention to the needs around you and find ways to serve others on your own.
We hope individuals, families and small groups will serve Greenville Oaks and our community a total of 10,000 hours this summer. Can you take off a day or two to serve alongside your children, grandchildren or small group? Can you help on Sunday mornings – attending one worship gathering and serving during the other? Can you help by purchasing food items and taking them to a local food pantry? Can you help a friend or neighbor in need? How can you serve?
Help us keep a record of service hours by completing an online form (click on button above). On the form, you may record hours for yourself, your family or your small group. One form may be completed for up to three dates/locations of service. Remember to keep using this link to continue recording all hours of service.
Hours may be entered for any service completed during 2017. Include hours for things like: delivering Meals on Wheels, serving at church on Sunday mornings, helping out your neighbor, participating in Impact Week (or any of the other opportunities through Greenville Oaks this summer), purchasing and delivering food to a local food pantry, etc.
