The world is a dark place. And when it's dark, we have a tendency to get frustrated with the darkness. But the darkness is just doing what darkness does. There's no reason to kick at the darkness.

Instead, we ought to ask, "Why is the light not doing its job?"

When Paul writes his letter to the church he planted at Philippi, he's in prison. He understands darkness, but he also understands a way of life that stands out against the darkness. And Paul's words and way of life to the Christians in Philippi are good news for us as well.

Through the letter Paul wrote to the Philippians, we'll discover ways to "shine like stars" in the midst of a world desperately in need of light.
